Pakistan is set to roll out a $1 billion AI investment plan aimed at strengthening its digital infrastructure and advancing technological development.

According to official sources, the investment will be carried out in phases until 2030. The initiative is designed to provide affordable access to advanced AI systems and promote innovation across public and private sectors.
The Ministry of IT will launch a foundational infrastructure development program for artificial intelligence, which will be executed through the Ignite National Technology Fund. The project will focus on building modern computing power and expanding access to high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs).
Sources said both government and private sector institutions will be provided with computing resources and GPU capacity to support research and development in AI-related fields. These resources are expected to play a key role in advancing machine learning, data analysis, and other emerging technologies.
Officials believe the initiative will strengthen Pakistan’s global competitiveness in the technology sector. They added that increased investment in AI will benefit businesses, researchers, and startups, while also paving the way for new technological innovations in the country.
