Unofficial result: PPP candidate secures victory in Tharparkar by-polls

Tharparkar: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has managed to keep its national assembly seat in the by-polls held a day earlier in Tharparkar, according to the unofficial and unverified results.
According to details, PPP candidate Syed Pir Amir Ali Shah secured 103,502 votes to win the National Assembly constituency NA-221 Tharparkar bating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Nizam-ud-Din who managed to secure 50,553 votes.
The voter turnout was 45%, while the number of registered voters in the constituency was 281,900.
Twelve candidates were contesting the elections in 318 polling stations.
It is pertinent to mention here the seat had fallen vacant after the death of PPP’s Member National Assembly (MNA) Noor Mohammad Shah.
