Chairing a meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department, Memon reviewed progress on the distribution of pink scooters, along with ongoing transport projects, new routes and measures to provide modern public transport facilities.

The meeting also decided to launch a new Peoples Bus Service route from Larkana to Qambar and Shahdadkot on September 18.

Memon said the new route would facilitate residents of Larkana, Qambar, Shahdadkot and surrounding areas. He added that the Sindh government was taking steps to provide citizens with modern, safe and affordable public transport.

He directed officials to ensure the new route starts on schedule and that necessary facilities are provided to passengers.

The meeting also reviewed the Green Line and Orange Line BRT services in Karachi. Memon said Green Line ridership had reached 88,000, while more than 11,000 people travelled on the Orange Line daily.

Officials also discussed routes for additional double-decker and electric buses, with Memon directing them to complete the route planning process soon.
