The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has cautioned against flooding threat in parts of Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Balochistan.

Likely heavy rains may cause flash flood in local streams/ Nullahs in Diamer, Ghizer, Ashkoman, Gopis, Nagar, Hunza, Shamshal, Skardu and Shiger in GB, Upper Dir, Swat, Bajaur, Malakand, Kurram, Kohistan, Mohmand and Orakzai in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Zhob, Shirani and Musakhel districts of Balochistan.

Heavy rain may cause urban flooding in low lying areas of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Sheikhupura.

The NDMA has asked all concerned departments to keep alert in view of likely extreme weather threats and be prepared to tackle likely flooding emergency.

Mainly hot and humid weather is likely to prevail in most parts of Sindh. However, rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected in Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Thatta, Badin, Karachi and surroundings up to 16th September with occasional gaps.
