PTI to support PML-Q’s Pervaiz Elahi for CM Punjab

Punjab Assembly Speaker and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) met Prime Minister Imran Khan at his residence in Bani Gala. PML-Q leaders Moonis Elahi, Kamil Ali Agha and Hussain Elahi also attended the meeting on Monday.

As the meeting got over, Special Assistant to PM on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill tweeted that the PTI will support Pervaiz Elahi for Punjab chief ministership.

In return, the PML-Q has announced support for PM Imran Khan and vote against the no-confidence motion in the national assembly, he claimed.

‘Prime Minister congratulated Elahi’

PML-Q leader Monis Elahi has said that Pervaiz Elahi has accepted PM Khan’s Punjab chief minister offer. “The prime minister also congratulated Elahi,” he added.

Meanwhile, the PML-Q spokesperson has said that the premier has given PML-Q the task to talk to disgruntled members.

Punjab CM Usman Buzdar has resigned

Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has tendered his resignation to PM Imran Khan.

Farrukh said all the matters between PTI and PML-Q have been sorted out. PM Imran Khan has decided to nominate Pervaiz Elahi as Punjab CM.
