PML-N’s Shaista Pervez Malik wins NA-133 Lahore by-election

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) candidate Shaista Pervez Malik won the NA-133 Lahore by-election and beat Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Aslam Gul.

According to results, PML-N’s candidate Shaista Pervez Malik received 46,497 votes while PPP’s Aslam Gul was able to secure 32,020 votes. The turnout ratio was 18.59 percent.

Shaista Pervaiz Malik's son Ali Pervaiz Malik said that despite the reckless use of money, PML-N won. PML-N leader Khawaja Imran Nazir said that PPP has invested money of Sindh people in the NA-133 constituency.

On the other hand, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Hamza Shehbaz congratulated Shaista Pervez Malik on her victory in NA-133. PML-N workers also celebrated the victory.

The polling process started at 8:00 am and continued till 5:00 pm without any break. People with disabilities and elderly men and women also went to the polling stations to cast their votes.

The NA-133 seat was vacated after the death of Pervez Malik.
