MoU between Global Shapers Faisalabad and Faisalabad Oli Refinery to End Plastic Waste, to Strengthen Plastic Pollution Prevention.
Purpose
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to formally create relationships to improve waste, minimize the use of hazardous materials, prevent pollution of valuable natural resources, increase recycling and work to achieve Sustainability Development Goals i.e Responsible Consumption and Production and Climate Action. The Global Shapers and Faisalabad Oil refinery will, through this MOU, work together for the progress of sustainable development.
This MOU is intended to create a synergic alliance between Global Shaper and Oil refinery for the recycling of plastic waste which is a vital element in the protection of environment water bottles, pet bottles, polythene sheets, plastics bags etc.
Quality & Quantity
- Material should be free from food particles, without any contamination of garbage, municipal waste or any item which are detrimental for initiative.
- Minimum required quantity is 300kgs.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Commitments
The current recycling percentage is 14%. By partnering Global Shapers hopes to increase this rate to 35%. This will allow the collection and transportation of cans, bottles, plastics and preoperative packing.
- Global Shapers would store the plastic and Oil refinery would pick up on a mutually agreed schedule.
- Oil Refinery need to allocate for itself sufficient converted storage space for keeping the material safely.
