Taking to X, Fawad wrote, “Wow!!! Ahsan Iqbal’s criticism of Maryam Nawaz. PML-N people should come out of personal slavery; it is in Pakistan’s interest.”
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, Fawad said the Sharif and Zardari families believed that Pakistan was their personal estate and that ruling the country was their right.
“Their attitude is like that of kings, and they believe it is the duty of the people to pay taxes,” he said.
Fawad alleged that on the same day Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif increased the price of diesel by Rs13, the government decided to purchase new vehicles worth Rs30 billion.
“The very next day, Maryam Nawaz travelled to London on a government aircraft to attend her daughter’s graduation, although she could have travelled to London in first class on any airline,” he alleged.
He further criticised the ruling families over their display of wealth at wedding ceremonies, saying the problem was their mindset.
“They are ruling in an authoritarian manner because they have become rulers without getting votes,” Fawad said.
Earlier, Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives and Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, said on Monday that when a nation was burdened by inflation, simplicity for those in power was not merely a desirable trait but a moral responsibility.
