‘COVID-19 fourth wave’ Pakistan reports 3,239 new infections, 70 more deaths

Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the fourth wave of coronavirus amid threat of highly contagious Indian delta variant.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 3,239 cases of coronavirus were reported while 70 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 24,783.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 1,116,886.

As many as 1,002,430 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,893 critical cases.

Punjab                                                                                   

The number of patients swelled to 377,208 in the province with 11,479 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 417,439 in the province, while the death toll has reached 6,556.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 155,153 in the province with 4,730 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 31,755 confirmed cases while 335 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 30,314 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 672. On the other hand, there are 9,526 cases in GB with 169 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 95,491 cases in the capital city while 842 people have lost their lives.
