Early rumors about Apple’s first foldable flagship suggest that thinness and daily usability are top priorities. Initial reviews from people who’ve tested the device reveal that it will be extremely pocketable, which has been difficult for earlier foldable devices. Some of the design elements that have come up:

· Extremely Thin, Pocket-Friendly Hinge-Tests are showing it’s one of the slimmest foldables and could be extremely satisfying to open and shut, with no significant creasing visible and a good hinge mechanism.

· iPad-Like Interface-The big internal screen will be foldable, and when it’s opened up you’ll reportedly have an iPad-like multitasking setup.

· Great Viewfinder-It will offer up a much larger than usual viewfinder for better mobile photography.

· No Telephoto Camera-Despite its high price, the device will likely only have two cameras-a wide and ultra-wide. The sacrifice seems to be a telephoto lens in favor of the foldable form factor that many other foldable devices are also making.

A lack of a telephoto lens is due to the difficulty manufacturers face with adding multi-lens zoom configurations while keeping the thickness reasonable.

In an expected move, the price of the foldable iPhone will be Apple’s highest ever. Current estimations put the device starting at $2,000. The capacity will also matter-more storage could bring that up higher to the $2500+ range. Apple’s typical announcement schedule means this is expected to release alongside the iPhone 18 range in the fall.
