ISLAMABAD (9 News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC).

According to the details garnered, the NSC meeting was attended by the federal ministers and all services chiefs of the armed forces.

The matters relating to the country’s internal and external security situation also came under discussion during the meeting, while the participants also discussed progress on the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP).

However, the participants overviewed the impacts of US and Iran tussle in the region with details and they also reviewed on the progress of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) related matters.

During the meeting, the matters pertaining to the security situation at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border were discussed, which was also attended by officials of intelligence agencies.

PM, COAS discuss overall security situation

Earlier before the NSC meeting, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Prime Minister Imran Khan held a separate meeting here at Prime Minister Office.

According to the details, security issues were discussed during the meeting. The army chief briefed the Prime Minister on overall security situation in the country.

The matters pertaining to overall situation of the country’s sovereignty was also reviewed in the meeting.

On May 15, the army chief called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad.

According to the PM Office, matters relating to the security of the country were discussed during the meeting.
