9 News HD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan will defend Saudi Arabia with full force if its security comes under threat. He said protecting Saudi Arabia is as important to Pakistan as defending its own territory.

Khawaja Asif discussed Pakistan’s close ties with Saudi Arabia and ongoing efforts to reduce tensions in the region.

His statement came after senior officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Türkiye held talks in Tehran. The meeting focused on regional security and the need for continued dialogue to help prevent further conflict.

Khawaja Asif said Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia goes beyond formal agreements. He also referred to a defence agreement under which participating countries have committed to supporting one another against threats covered by the pact.

The minister said the countries involved were working towards an understanding that could help reduce tensions and stop the conflict from spreading further. He expressed hope that diplomatic efforts would bring progress, although he remained cautious about the final outcome.

He also raised concerns about attacks targeting Riyadh airport and threats to the holy sites in Makkah and Madinah, describing these developments as serious matters.

Pakistan has continued to support diplomatic efforts alongside its defence commitments to Saudi Arabia. The recent talks involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Türkiye reflect wider efforts to improve regional cooperation and find ways to prevent further fighting.

Khawaja Asif’s statement highlights Pakistan’s declared commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security, while ongoing diplomatic talks aim to find a peaceful way forward.
