Pakistan braces for dangerous heatwave

An intense heatwave is expected to be hit by an intense heatwave in the coming weeks due to a delay in the start of the monsoon season. According to weather website accuweather.com, the heatwave will start in the next few days and last into June.
Pakistani cities most affected by the heatwave will include Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan and Hyderabad.
Karachi is expected to be hit by bouts of heat but will avoid the projected extreme heatwave. Daily high temperatures are expected to be between 36-40 degrees Celsius into this weekend.
Pakistan’s Meteorological Department has forecast mainly hot and dry weather in most parts of the country for the week, with extreme heat in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan and Sindh.
