England set to feature in ODI tri-series in Pakistan

According to sources, England cricket team is ready to travel to Pakistan for a tri-series also featuring Sri Lanka cricket team.

Format of the series
The proposed tri-series will consist of four matches. Each team will face the other once in the group stage.
The top two teams on the points table will then qualify for the final, setting up a competitive build-up ahead of major international tournaments.
The initiative is part of broader plans by the Pakistan Cricket Board to prepare the national team for the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup.

Pakistan has not reached the semi-finals of an ODI World Cup since its defeat to India in the 2011 edition in Mohali.
The team exited in the quarter-finals in 2015 and failed to progress beyond the first round in both the 2019 and 2023 tournaments.
