State Bank develops game to help people understand their finances

The State Bank of Pakistan has developed PomPak-Learn to Earn, an online game that educates Pakistanis about their financial matters, including paying taxes and saving payments.

The gaming application is available on the Google Play Store and has already been downloaded over 50,000 times. The central bank says it will help people take control of their financial future.

PomPak educates people about money management, borrowing, saving, spending, banking, and other financial literacy aspects among the youth by completing multiple interactive challenges.

The SBP introduced it in collaboration with the National Institute of Banking and Finance as part of the central bank’s National Financial Literacy Programme for Youth.

It targets three age groups – children between nine and 12 years, adolescents between 13 and 17 years, and youth between 18 and 19 years.

Those who complete the game will be awarded a Certificate of Financial Literacy by the central bank.
