ISLAMABAD (9 News) – Special Assistant on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the outcome of yesterday’s by-election in PS-11 carries a lesson for those demanding fresh elections.
In a tweet on Friday, she said that PS-11 by-poll proved that Larkana is no longer PPP’s bastion of political power.
“The narrative of those making hue and cry over rigging stands failed. She said the PPP’s defeat in the by election is sufficient to open their eyes. This by-election also carries a lesson for those demanding fresh elections,” Firdous tweeted.
Earlier, Fridous Ashiq Awan has said the government will hold talks with the opposition if the matter is in the national interest.
Talking to the media on Saturday, she said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has supported the economy. “The government is trying to overcome challenges. The past rulers have burdened the rulers with loans,” she said.
Fridous Ashiq Awan said that the PTI government had inherited the loans. “The countries are run by tax collection. Only five percent of the community is carrying the burden of 95 percent people,” she said, adding the Loan Commission was not for a particular party.
She said that the commission was formed for investigating the loans. “There should be a method to get, spend and return the loans,” she added.
The special assistant said that five percent black sheep of the FBR are a blot on the performance of 95 percent.
