Twin cities' areas sealed to intercept TLP march

Islamabad: The district administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have sealed several areas of twin cities in an attempt to intercept the long march which is being carried out by the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan’s (TLP) supporters.

As per details, the federal law enforcement agencies sealed zones and roads with containers in a bid to stop TLP protesters from entering the capital territory and blocked the Faizabad connection.

The TLP leader was detained on Friday. However, he was unconfined later when the government held a dialogue with the leaders of the banned party.

Out of the TLP protestors arrested by law enforcement agencies from Rawalpindi and Islamabad since Thursday, only five were released from Adiala jail.

However, the Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid publicized that the government could not meet the TLP’s demand, the TLP announced that its activists would march towards Islamabad.

The Punjab government directed the district police officers of Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali, Khushab, and Bahawalpur to report to the Regional Police Officer of Rawalpindi Imran Ahmar, along with extra personnel, to assist the Rawalpindi range police to challenge the developing law and order situation.
