Rescue 1122 service being launched in Islamabad this month Says Sheikh Rasheed

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has said that the Rescue 1122 service is being launched in Islamabad this month.
Talking to the media during his visit to a fire brigade service on Tuesday, he said that Rescue 1122 is being launched in Islamabad like Punjab.
The Rescue 1122 service will include the fire service, ambulance, and other emergency services. "Initially, 20 vehicles have been included in the Rescue 1122 service, which will be increased to 40 vehicles in the next phase," he added.

Sheikh Rasheed said that the federal capital is being made the safest city. "The construction of high-rise buildings will put the burden on the emergency services. There is an urgent need to upgrade the fire service and other emergency services," he added.
Earlier, he inspected the exercise regarding emergency handling and fire fighting. Islamabad Commissioner Amir Ali Ahmed and MCI Administrator Hamza Shafqat briefed the minister about the up-gradation of the service.
