PPP decides to contact Hamza Shahbaz under new political strategy

Lahore: In a new political strategy, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has decided to contact Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shahbaz.

According to details, as the rift between two major political parties has deepened, PPP has decided to adopt a new political strategy due to the aggressive politics of PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz.

As per sources, PPP has decided to contact the opposition leader in provincial assembly Hamza Shahbaz and a meeting between him PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto is also expected soon.

Some PPP leaders are of the view that Maryam Nawaz's style of politics could harm the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) alliance.

PPP is also likely to propose to include Hamza Shahbaz instead of Maryam Nawaz in the PDM meetings.

The two main opposition parties the PPP and the PML-N were at loggerheads over the matter of the Opposition leader’s slot in the senate.

Reportedly, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) leaders had decided that the Senate chairman would be from the PPP, deputy chairman from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) and the Opposition leader’s slot would go to PML-N.

However, PPP had debated that the situation was different after Gillani lost elections of Senate chairman. Yesterday, Gillani submitted his nomination papers and shortly after, he was appointed as leader of the opposition in the Senate.
