PM Directs To Determine Responsibilities Of Ministries For Realization Of Set Targets In Power Sector

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to clearly determine the responsibilities of all relevant ministries for the realization of the set targets in the power sector.

He was presiding over a meeting regarding electricity prices, with a special focus on the reduction of circular debt.

The meeting was informed that electricity consumers will benefit from the reduction of around 325 billion rupees in the circular debt due to the target set for the next two years.

The Prime Minister was briefed about the proposed strategy to check electricity prices as well as reducing the circular debt.

It was further told that a strategy has also been formulated to further check transmission and distribution losses.

The Prime Minister said as the previous governments neglected the aspect of curbing transmission and distribution losses as well as improving flaws in the system, and its burden is being faced by people.
