LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Sharif on Monday has dispatched a file to Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Qasim Khan to forward his bail matter to the referee judge.
The development came after judges, who were hearing money laundering cases, handed over their separate written verdicts on PML-N leader’s bail to the high court office.
Justice Asjad Javed in his dissenting note stated that fellow judge had approved the bail of Shehbaz Sharif despite his refusal whereas Justice Sarfraz Dogar told that the bail was granted on mutual consent.
Earlier, the release of Shehbaz Sharif on bail in a money laundering case was halted after one of the judges hearing the matter raised an objection.

LHC judge Justice Asjad Javed had expressed disagreement over the ruling of granting bail to PML-N leader. Following this, the LHC CJ had dissolved the bench hearing National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references.
Sources told that from next week, Justice Alia Neelum and Justice Farooq will hold proceedings on the cases.
On April 14, 2021, LHC had approved the bail plea of Shehbaz Sharif in a money laundering case.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court had directed the authorities to release him from Kot Lakhpat jail over two surety bonds of Rs5 million each.
