Maryam Nawaz's Words Reflects Her Frustration Says Shibli Faraz

ISLAMABAD: Responding to the speech of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz, Minister for Information Shibli Faraz has said that Maryam's words were a reflection of her frustration.

Addressing a press briefing, the senator said that Maryam Nawaz was ordered to be produced before the NAB on March 26. "Maryam Nawaz in her statement yesterday had threatened which reflected her mindset adding that the purpose of her speech was to provoke the workers," he added.

The minister said that the PML-N leader was making statements to attack the institution. "The threat to appear in NAB in groups was reprehensible," he maintained. He alleged that they supported the land mafia during their tenure adding that these are the people who attacked the Supreme Court. "PDM is working on the agenda of protecting their personal interests at the cost of violating the law."

Maryam Nawaz's diatribe in her latest speech reiterated his government's commitment to zero tolerance for those who looted the nation's wealth.

Shibli Faraz said the government will ensure law and order situation during Maryam's appearance before NAB.

He said opposition parties are exhibiting the same behavior of the past when they used to take the law in their hands but they shouldn't forget this is Naya Pakistan where no one is above the law.

Condemning the JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman's approach of creating chaos, he said being the religious leader he should not indulge himself in such activities.

To a question, Shibli Faraz said institutions such as the National Accountability Bureau should be urgently restructured in order to make them independent, diligent, and efficient.

Responding to another question, he said the government's main focus is on improving the economy, reducing inflation, and making the common man's life better.  He said our priorities are quite clear and we will not waste our time in confrontation with the opposition over less important issues.
