9 News HD: Kuwait has strongly condemned the continued Houthi attacks targeting Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia, saying such actions hurt the feelings of Muslims around the world and threaten the sanctity of Islamic holy sites.
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said the attacks are a serious escalation and a clear violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty. The ministry also condemned attacks on Riyadh and other Saudi cities, along with strikes against civilians, economic facilities and ships in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandab Strait.
Kuwait also expressed full support for Saudi Arabia and backed the steps taken by the kingdom to protect its security, citizens and residents. The ministry stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security is closely linked to the security of Kuwait and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The Kuwaiti government also renewed its support for Yemen’s legitimate government and called on the United Nations Security Council to take action and implement relevant resolutions.
The latest statement comes as tensions in the region continue to rise, with Houthi attacks and military action creating growing concerns about regional security and the safety of important shipping routes. Kuwait said repeated attacks on holy sites and civilian areas cannot be accepted and called for respect for international law and regional stability.
