Iran’s Minister for Sports, Ahmad Donyamali, said that he is not confident about the safety of Iranian players in the United States. His remarks come amid rising tensions and security concerns surrounding the tournament.

It is worth noting that former U.S. President Donald Trump had earlier stated that Iran’s participation in matches held in the United States could put them at risk. Despite these concerns, FIFA has refused to shift Iran’s matches to Mexico.

According to reports, Iran is scheduled to play its matches against New Zealand, Belgium, and Egypt in cities including California and Seattle. The FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, is set to begin on June 11 and will continue until July 19.
