ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to give the salary and perks to Broadsheet Inquiry Commission Chief Sheikh Azmat Saeed equal to a judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Justice (retd) Sheikh Azmat Saeed had excused from providing his services without the salary and perks. He is likely to be given a remuneration of up to Rs 1.5 million.

After seeking the approval of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the Cabinet Division has sent a summary to the federal cabinet.

The commission will investigate the matter of payment of millions of rupees to two former chiefs of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), officers, and lawyers.

On January 29, the federal government had established the Broadsheet Inquiry and Recovery Commission for holding a probe into the payment of millions of rupees.
