Govt committed to empowering women and ensuring their rights, says Shibli Faraz

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Shibli Faraz on Monday has said that empowerment of women is imperative to make society civilized and enlightened.

Minister turned to Twitter and said, "We are committed to empowering and securing women in society by ensuring equal opportunities and rights for development".

He further added that enforcement of the 'Women Property Rights Act' will help ensure women's inheritance rights.

"Women’s day highlights the status of women in society and the importance of their commendable services in various fields, Islam has given unparalleled rights to them." he specified.

The minister concluded, "The constitution of Pakistan is the guarantor of women's rights. Women have played a significant role in the development of Pakistan".
