FIR lodged over alleged abduction of PTI leader Sanam Javed

Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sanam Javed has been allegedly kidnapped from Peshawar. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered following the instructions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
According to the FIR, after eating at a cafe at 10:30pm, Sanam was heading towards Cantt when five unknown persons in two vehicles forcibly stopped her and took her away.
According to the provincial government, an FIR has been registered against the kidnappers on the strict instructions of the Chief Minister, and immediate action has been initiated.
Officials say that a full inquiry will be conducted on the FIR, the unknown persons will be identified, and the involved elements will be punished according to the law.
It is pertinent to note that the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) had sentenced Sanam Javed to 5 years in prison in the Shadman police station burning case on May 9, 2023.
Earlier, Sanam Javed was arrested on April 27 for making propaganda posts on social media against the heads of state institutions; before this, she was also arrested last year.
Notably, Sanam Javed’s sister, Falak Javed, was also arrested last month by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in the case of fake videos of Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari.
Background
It may be recalled that after Imran Khan’s arrest from the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the Al-Qadir Trust case on May 9, 2023, there was a nationwide protest by the PTI.
Meanwhile, in Lahore's Model Town area, on May 9, in addition to burning the PML-N office, military, civil, and private installations were set on fire, and government and private properties were severely damaged, while at least 8 people were killed and 290 were injured.
The protesters also stormed the residence of the Corps Commander in Lahore, also known as Jinnah House, and also broke a gate of the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
After this, 1900 people involved in fighting, vandalism, and arson with law enforcement agencies across the country were arrested, while cases were also registered against Imran Khan and his party leaders and workers.
