FCC to hear pleas against KP CM Afridi on July 29

The Federal Constitutional Court has scheduled hearings on petitions filed against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

The hearing of a petition concerning the PTI founder’s “Release Force” has been fixed for July 29. On the same date, the court will also hear an appeal challenging the withdrawal of cases linked to the May 9 incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A three-member bench headed by FCC Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan will conduct the proceedings.

The court has issued notices to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and other relevant parties in connection with the petitions.

However, the Federal Constitutional Court has already issued a stay order against the withdrawal of the May 9 cases.

The proceedings include a petition filed by Radio Pakistan, which challenged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s decision to withdraw a case related to the attack on its Peshawar premises. In its plea, Radio Pakistan has requested that the case be transferred out of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
