Badly Hurt By Two Incidents Occurred With Women Last Week Says President Arif Alvi

ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi has said that he is badly hurt by the two incidents occurred with women last week.
Addressing the launching ceremony of a book 'Dikhtaran-e-Pakistan' (Daughters of Pakistan) on Monday, he said that women have a special status in the Muslim society.
"Special instruction has been given to respect the women in Islam. Women education has a key importance in socio-economic progress," he added.
Later talking to the outgoing Spokesperson of Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and High Commissioner-designate of Pakistan to Australia Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri at Aiwan-e-Sadr, he said that Pakistan attaches utmost importance to its ties with Australia and wanted to further strengthen bilateral cooperation with Australia in all areas of mutual interest.

He emphasized the need to develop collaboration with Australia in the areas of education and vocational training that would help towards the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
He added that Pakistan wanted to enhance bilateral cooperation with Australia in diverse fields, particularly education, agriculture, trade, water management, mining and Information Technology (IT). He also underlined the need to attract Australian investment to Pakistan, adding that the country had adopted business-friendly policies and had shifted its focus from geo-politics to geo-economics.
