All set to sign agreement to purchase discounted crude oil from Russia Says Musadik Malik

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik has said that all arrangements have been finalized to purchase discounted crude oil from Russia.

Talking to the media on Friday, he said a Russian delegation led by the energy minister is visiting Pakistan. "We will try our best to decide the matter in the national interest," he added.

He said that the government is linking the dam duty of the Refineries Policy to the investment. "Russia will give Pakistan the crude oil at more discounted rate as compared to the world," he added.

Musadik Malik said that the refineries can make investments from the duty saving and the government will also conduct its audit. "It is in the national interest that investment should be made in modernizing and upgrading refineries," he maintained.
