Kareena Kapoor Khan is one actress who always been an advocate of healthy living. Known to have a banana as the first thing in the morning to making rice and ghee her pregnancy weight loss diet, Kareena recently talked about her lifestyle changes especially after Taimur and while divulging more about her summer diet this season. From eating mangoes to munching on dal, roti and rice, and even fried papad for lunch, Kareena spills on what her daily diet looks like.
The actress only concentrates of having a balanced diet for remaining fit. In a conversation with celebrity dietician and nutritionist, Rujuta Diwekar, both Kareena and Saif Ali Khan revealed about healthy habits and diet tips they have adopted as a family, to talking about how Taimur Ali Khan, too, eats only home-cooked meals. Rujuta spoke the importance of food as asked Kareena and Saif to shed light on their everyday diet plan. “Choose your food like choosing your life partner. Eat local, have local cuisines, that are climate resilient,” Kareena said.
During summer, mangoes are everyone’s favourite fruit that is yet another misconception that if having the fruit is not good. However, Kareena busted the misconception and said, “Of course. Who isn’t? But not like six mangoes a day. Just one.”
Another myth that Kareena busted was about rice being a weight-gainer. The actress, in fact, stressed enough about how rice helped her lose weight. Talking about rice being her favourite health food, she said, “Of course I do. We have khichdi for dinner that I actually look forward to. That is my comfort food.”
While shedding post-pregnancy weight, Kareena said, “That’s a lot of hard work and dedication towards food, gym and having a consistent plan. People thought I did it very fast but actually, I did it in an entire year, which was very normal. “
In even Saif talked about Kareena’s diet plan while shedding her post-pregnancy weight. He said, “But you’re like super disciplined and really careful which she doesn’t make a big deal. So we don’t know what she’s actually doing or eating. She’s not making a fuss about it but she actually stuck to a really strict diet. With strong exercise routine with yoga is pretty it is a great form of exercise, properly tiring. That and running. So working pretty hard and sleeping early and getting up.”
Kareena shared how her summer diet consisted of dahi chawal, lemon water, kokum sharbat and mangoes.
Besides sleeping early and waking up early are important to a result-giving diet, even afternoon naps are healthy. She said, “Afternoon nap is also a key.
