Former PM Nawaz’s aide Irfan Siddiqui arrested in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (9Newshd): Police in the federal capital late on Friday arrested Irfan Siddiqui, noted columnist and a close aide to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Siddiqui’s son also confirmed the arrest. 

Police had taken Siddiqui to the Ramna police station but later shifted him to the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) police station.

Police sources said Siddiqui was arrested for violating a tenancy law.

According to the sources, Siddiqui had rented his house without informing the police, for which a case under Section 188 was registered at the police station.
