Jatoi: Chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Fazlur Rehman, has demanded fresh elections, terming the present government a non-democratic one.
“This is a government of just one person, this is not democracy,” said the JUI-F supremo, adding that the government has not delivered anything. Criticizing the budget he said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government has destroyed the economy and presented an “anti-people” budget.
“If the government lasts five years, the country will not survive. Local body elections cannot be held under these circumstances. In fact fresh elections should be held,” he said.
“Opposition is being summoned again and again by NAB, while government members themselves are involved in corruption but nobody takes action against them,” he said.
In reply to a question Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that media is an important pillar of the state and it’s freedom is imperative. “Government restrictions on media are against the constitution and proof of government confusion,” he said.
