Ehsan Mani has no personal issues with Sarfaraz Ahmed

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani has simplified that he has no personal issues with former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and he was removed from the captaincy on the basis of his performances in international cricket.

“I have no grudges with Sarfaraz and he knows this, he was inconsistent and was dropped from the side on the basis of his performances,” Mani said. In a presser at National Stadium Karachi (NSK), Mani clarified that wicket-keeper batsman can come back in the national side by performing in the domestic cricket.

“Sarfaraz is a gutsy player and I am pretty sure that he will seek out his batting issues in domestic cricket soon. He is fully committed to Pakistan cricket,” He added. Mani also cleared that he has not taken any U-turn regarding Sarfaraz and he was appointed captain till the world cup.

“No U-turn taken, Sarfaraz was appointed skipper till the mega event and he also captained the side. We said that his performances would be reassessed, we have to think ahead,”. He also added that Sarfaraz was not only the captain of Karachi but was of whole Pakistan.

Karachi born Sarfaraz was removed from the captaincy after a disastrous defeat against Sri Lanka in Pakistan in the T20 series. Babar Azam was appointed as T20 captain and Azhar Ali in Test.
