Cooperation of people essential to curb spread of coronavirus, says Buzdar


Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab, Usman Buzdar has said that cooperation of people is essential to curb spread of novel coronavirus.

According to details, members of provincial assembly from different districts called on Chief Minister in Lahore today.

While addressing the gathering, CM asserted that though the situation is challenging but the government’s commitment and passion is stronger than it and the challenge will be overcome through public support and joint collaboration.

“We have sealed the hotspot areas of coronavirus all over Punjab including Lahore. The sealed areas will be reopened once number of cases is controlled there. Wearing masks and maintaining social distancing is pertinent to curb coornavirus,” he said.

On Wednesday, smart lockdowns was imposed in 58 areas of Lahore to control the spread of coronavirus cases in the city.

In Lahore, the sealed localities include, Islampura, Abdali Road, Yousaf Road, Johar Town, Canal View, Wapda Town, Jalo Mor and Cavalry Ground.

In Islamabad, different sectors including I-8, 1-3, I-4, G-9/2 and G-9/3 will be sealed tonight. Moreover, 17 localities of Faisalabad and 06 of Gujranwala will be sealed in the first phase of smart lockdown.

According to a notification issued by the local administration, these areas will remain sealed till June 30.

All dairy and fruit shops will remain open in these areas during the lockdown from 9am till 7pm, whereas shopping malls, markets and public and private offices will remain closed. The medical stores and laboratories will remain open 24 hours.
