BBC Journalist Exposes Indian Govt’s Ugly Face Over IoK Lock Down

9 NEWS – Kashmiris are in the state of shock and extreme anger after Indian government revoked the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir while abolishing Article 370 and locked down the entire valley.

The settlers of Kashmir strongly realize that India has betrayed them and this thought could breed any new conflict in the region, says BBC correspondent Geeta Pandey who traveled for two days in different parts of the valley and interviewed several people to know about the truth.

In her special report for BBC, the journalist working with the prestigious foreign media outlet, says the valley of Kashmir has been locked down in an unprecedented manner in its history.

She says she came across the same mindset of Kashmiris who are making up their minds to resist the decision of Indian government at any cost.

Indian forces have closed all routes leading to Khan Yar point in the heart of Srinagar, a place is famous for anti-India protests.

“We are living in siege day and night now a days because of state hooliganism,” commented an elderly resident of Khan Yar.

According to Geeta, Kashmiri youth are not only ready to use arms, but a man went to say up to the extent that he would make his only small son to pick arm against Indian forces.

She adds one such autocratic directive issued by New Delhi has even pushed those people to wall who never backed independence movement.

“There is complete lock down in Srinagar from Monday last and the entire city gives a deserted look. Shops, schools, colleges and offices are closed and roads are empty.”

Geeta quoted the local youth as saying India has snatched their identity which is unacceptable to them.
