PMDC Dissolved, New Body to Regulate Medical Profession

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council was dissolved and will likely be substituted by the Pakistan Medical Commission, the government declared on Sunday. President Arif Alvi signed the Pakistan Medical Commission Ordinance 2019 which denotes a new age will start regarding control and regulation of the medical profession,' stated a media release.

The Pakistan Medical Commission will include the Medical and Dental Council, the National Medical and Dental Academic Board, and the National Medical Authority, that will act as a Secretariat of the Commission.

Offices of the PMDC were shut for a week along with the authorities sealed records. The PMC was led to start operations.
