LAHORE: Opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif has said that people are paying the price of the incompetence of the government.

In a statement on Sunday, he said that farmers are suffering due to the urea crisis in the country. “Urea is being smuggled and it is being sold in the black market. Farmers are screaming about smuggling but do not know where the government is sleeping,” he added.

He said that if prices of urea in the international market are higher then why its smuggling was not in control? “Urea cris are results of PTI’s corruption and mismanagement. Urea crisis means that there would be a deficiency in agricultural production. It is so unfortunate that an agricultural country imports sugar and wheat,” he maintained.

He said that not having control over prices is the extreme of the government’s incompetence and failure. “Nawaz Sharif gave historic ‘Kisan Package’ in 2015. Rs 32 billion were given to 1.6 Million farmers. This program was initiated with the support of PDMA in Sialkot and Lodhran on November 5, 2015.
