ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier postponed

Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced postpone the upcoming Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier due to prevailing COVID-19 across the world.
The qualifiers were scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka between 3 and 19 July. Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United States, West Indies, and Zimbabwe were to play the event where as many as three teams were to qualify for 2021 event in New Zealand.
ICC, in a statement, said that the decision has been taken after consulting with all stakeholders involved in the event. The planning to reschedule all the postponed events will take place once the current situation settles down.
On the other hand, the qualification pathway to the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2022 has also been postponed following the same reason. The event was scheduled to begin with the European Regional Qualifier in Denmark between 24 and 30 July.
