Heavy rain with thunderstorm expected in most parts of country

Islamabad: Rain with wind-thundershowers is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central Punjab, Islamabad, northeastern Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next three days.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a strong westerly wave is likely to enter the country on Saturday (night) and will grip upper and central parts on Sunday and may persist till Tuesday.

In the spell, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Lahore, Gilgit, and Muzaffarabad may also receive rain.

Rain-wind-thunderstorm is expected in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Chaman, Qila Saifullah, Sibbi, Barkhan, Kalat, Khuzdar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jaccobabad, Sukkur, and Larkana from Saturday (evening/night) to Monday.

Rain with wind/thunderstorm is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohat, Kurram, Peshawar, Waziristan, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, D G Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Khushab, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, Layyah, Mianwali, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Kasur, and Okara from Sunday to Tuesday.

A hailstorm is also expected at few places during the period.

Isolated rain-thunderstorm is also expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Mansehra, Haripur, Abbottabad Islamabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Potohar region, Hafizabad, Narowal, Lahore, and Kasur on Wednesday.

There is a fear of landslides in the vulnerable areas of Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir from Monday and Tuesday.
