Former chief justice Saqib Nisar says he hadn't declared Imran Khan as 'Sadiq' and 'Amin' completely

ISLAMABAD: Former chief justice Saqib Nisar said that he had not declared PTI chairman Imran Khan as 'Sadiq' and 'Amin' completely and it was given a political tinge.

In a statement on Monday, he said that Imran Khan was declared as 'Sadiq' and 'Amin' on three points, written by Akram Sheikh advocate. "However, Imran Khan proved to be 'Sadiq' and 'Amin' on all three points."

Chief Justice (retd) Saqib Nisar said that nowadays those who do not know the ABC of the law are talking about the court judgements. "The person who attacks courts today has always been the favourite of the courts. He was given the relief except for one case," he maintained.

He said that Nawaz Sharif started saying in different circles that this was his chief when was not made the chief justice. "I had separated myself from the bench in the Panama case and had issued an open notice regarding the term in the disqualification case, saying anyone can help the court whosoever wants. The term of disqualification was determined in the light of the constitution," he added.

The former chief justice said that his WhatsApp had been hacked for two days and had not been recovered yet. "It is a feared that my mobile data may be used for some purpose. But those who hacked my WhatsApp should be ashamed," he opined.

Justice (retd) Saqib Nisar said that if someone examines the forensic report of Pakistan Kidney & Liver Institute and Research Centre (PKLI), he would be astounded.

He said that the solution to the country's problems is in the elections. "In 2018, obstacles were put in the election which were thwarted. Babar Yaqoob is witness to it," he disclosed.

The former chief justice was of the view that he might have made the wrong judgements. "Why have the decisions taken for the survival of the country been not implemented?"

To a question that it is presumed that General (retd) Faiz had pressurized him to get Nawaz Sharif disqualified, he said that why General (retd) Faiz had pressurized him. "I will talk to General (retd) Bajwa about this claim."

He said that he was being accused of lobbying for Imran Khan in the judiciary. Why should I lobby for Imran Khan in the judiciary? I am worried about my children's future," he added.

Saqib Nisar said that he would not give an interview to anyone in future. "A book will be published after my death which will contain all the facts. I will pen down the story from 1997 till the end of his tenure as chief justice," he concluded.
