Pakistan prepares to reopen Kartarpur Corridor, says FM

Lahore: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has stated that Pakistan is preparing to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for all Sikh pilgrims
Taking to twitter, FM wrote that Pakistan prepares to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for all Sikh pilgrims as places of worship open up across the world,
“As places of worship open up across the world, Pakistan prepares to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor for all Sikh pilgrims, conveying to the Indian side our readiness to reopen the corridor on 29 June 2020, the occasion of the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh,” he wrote.
In April, Pakistan closed Kartarpur Corridor along with its entire western border with India and other nations to contain spread of coronavirus in the country.

On the other hand, citing an uptick in Covid-19 cases, the Indian government also closed the visa-free passage, known as the Kartarpur corridor, that allows members of the Sikh community to visit the shrine of Sikhism’s founder Guru Nanak.
