Quaid-e-Azam being remembered on his 72nd death anniversary

Karachi: The 72nd death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah is being observed today with due solemnity and reverence across the country.

The nation pledges to follow his golden principles of “unity, faith and discipline”.

Quran Khawani and Fateha will be offered at the Quaid’s mausoleum. People from different walks of life will visit the mausoleum to lay floral wreaths and offer prayers.

Special prayers will also be offered in mosques across the country for the departed soul of the father of the nation.

Several public and private organizations and educational institutions will hold functions to highlight different aspects of the life of Quaid-e-Azam who united the Muslims of the Subcontinent for acquiring a separate homeland.Quaid-e-Azam was born on December 25, 1876 in Karachi and left this world on September 11, 1948.

He received early education in Karachi and then went to London for higher education. He got his law degree in 1896, returned home and begun his legal career.

He got elected to Legislative Assembly in 1909 and begun his political career joining Muslim League in 1906. He remained a member of Congress for many years while also being associated with the Muslim League.

The father of the nation passed away on September 11, 1948.
