Islamabad: The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) is likely to finalize the decision over the re-opening of educational institutions in September after five-month closure.

According to details, the participants will deliberate on the coronavirus situation in the country and the steps taken by the incumbent government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to contain the virus spread.

The key NCOC meeting will decide whether to re-open educational institutes in the first week of September or not.

Schools are likely to operate in three shifts spanning three hours each under the SOP.

Yesterday, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood had chaired an interprovincial education ministers’ conference wherein the decision to reopen educational institutions in Sept was made.

Moreover, there will be two more inter-provincial conferences held before September 01 to further assess situation.

The dates would be changed with respect to the intensity of coronavirus pandemic.

On March 26, the federal government decided to prolong the closure of all educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universities, across the country till May 31.

The National Coordination Committee, in its fifth meeting, reviewed the situation of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country and decided to keep all educational intuitions till end of May.
