Several areas of Lahore, Karachi face load shedding amid hot weather

Karachi: An unannounced power outage continues in several areas of Lahore and Karachi amid hot and humid weather.

According to details, several union councils in the metropolis are facing long hours of power outages during sweltering summer time in Karachi.

After rain, various blocks of Federal B area, Baldia Town, Shah Faisal colony, Landhi, Korangi, Kharadar, PECHS, Malir, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Site area faced load shedding.

As per K- Electric officials they are working to restore power in areas facing load shedding.

According to reports Kemari, Sarjani, Orangi Town, Banras, Qasba Colony, Lyari, Usmanabad, Gulbahar and adjoining areas suffered power outages for long hours.

Moroever, many blocks of North Nazaimabad, New Karachi and Federal B Area have also complained of electricity shortage.

In Lahore, several localities remain deprived of electricity throughout the night, reportedly due to voltage issues.

 The worst hit areas in Lahore included Badami Bagh, Harbanspura, Dharampura, Iqbal Town and others. According to Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), there is no issue of power supply in the city.

Prolonged load shedding has created water shortages in the affected areas and caused hardships to the people.
