Heavy rain turns weather pleasant in Lahore, parts of country

Lahore: Heavy rain accompanied by gusty winds likely to lash parts of the country including Lahore today, turning the weather pleasant.
The rain continued intermittently. Heavy rain brought the mercury down and provided much needed relief to the citizens from persistent hot weather.
Heavy downpour in different areas inundated roads and streets in the provincial capital of Lahore and residence faced immense difficulties as rainwater entered houses in low lying areas.

Meanwhile, Shakargarh, Khanewal and Dadu were also hit by heavy rains. Due to rains many areas were left without electricity in different cities.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), heavy rains forecast in upper parts of the country till Tuesday.
Rain with thunderstorm is expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Upper / Central Punjab, East Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Monday while heavy rain is also expected in some places. Meanwhile, dusty winds are expected in southern Punjab and Upper Sindh districts and thundershowers are expected in some places.
