Heavy rain in Lahore, parts of Punjab turns weather pleasant

Lahore: Heavy rain accompanied by gusty winds lashed parts of the country including Lahore and its adjacent areas on Thursday morning, turning the weather pleasant.

Intermittent rain brought the mercury down and provided much needed relief to the citizens from persistent hot weather.

Heavy downpour in different areas inundated roads and streets in the provincial capital of Lahore and residence faced immense difficulties as rainwater entered houses in low lying areas.

Rain with gusty winds was also reported from Sharaqpur Sharif, Safdarabad, Sukheke, Chiniot, Jhang, Sangla Hill and their adjoin areas. The provided much needed relief to the citizens from persistent hot weather.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain-wind-thunderstorm with gusty winds are expected in upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the next twelve hours.

Hot and dry weather is expected in other parts of the country.

Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning:      

Islamabad twenty-four degree centigrade, Lahore and Peshawar twenty-eight, Karachi thirty-one, Quetta twenty-five, Gilgit and Murree eighteen and Muzaffarabad twenty-one degree centigrade.

According to the met office forecast about Occupied Kashmir, the weather in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla is expected to be partly cloudy with chances of rain-thunderstorm.

Temperature recorded this morning in Srinagar and Pulwama eighteen degree centigrade, Jammu thirty-six, Leh nine, Anantnag nineteen, Shopian sixteen and Baramulla seventeen degree centigrade.
